Jan is as original as he is surprising. Trained as a circus artist, he initially performed on theater and cabaret stages. Wishing to have more contact with his audience and express himself in longer formats, street art became a natural choice for him. All his creations bear the distinctive signature of “Jan HimSelf”: a youthful and dynamic approach.

POORLY COORDINATED
This term described Jan during his childhood. Although dexterity was not his strong suit, his thirst for learning was insatiable. His passion for the diabolo allowed him to develop his agility. Through his performances, he discovered how to create an authentic connection with his audience.
The hours and hours dedicated to self-taught training transformed this clumsy person into a professional artist. His evolution was such that he became one of the few Swiss artists to graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in circus arts, in Rotterdam in 2013. A tangible proof that passion and perseverance can turn challenges into spectacular successes.
FINDING ONE’S OWN WAY
Initially destined for an academic career, Jan fell in love with his diabolo during adolescence. At first, he couldn’t imagine that this passion could surpass the status of a simple hobby. Living as an artist? It seemed impossible to him. With dreams and extravagant ideas, he eventually managed to break free from his inner patterns and dive in 200%. His creation named #Authentic was inspired by the theme of finding one’s own path.
